Since my last newsletter, I’ve continued my full time design job at Gumball 3000. Highlights include all the rally graphics, car liveries, Christie’s auction catalogue and Gumball Guide, complete with holographic foil on sleek black uncoated GF Smith paper. My work for Monkey Shoulder included label design for their whisky bottles, business cards, flyers for their opening night, and mixing spoon box-set (still in production).
I continued to design apparel graphics for Critical Music, including stitched bag patches, 5-panel caps, flags, t-shirts, and hoodies. I also re-branded their 2020 clubnight graphics inspired by a cut and paste aesthetic, a subtle re-lick from last years design and templates I created for them. I also designed their Summer Sonics BBQ clubnight artwork at Studio 338 and promo t-shirts. I created the brand identity for Optimal Resourcing, including brand guidelines, Powerpoint and Word templates, business cards and stationery, which was a huge job, expanding my design experience to the corporate world. Vinyl sleeve design included Djrum’s ‘Seven Lies’ re-press, and Creative Wax’s ‘Unreleased Series’.
Exhibition graphics, invite and catalogue, printed with white embossing on the cover and triplexed invites for Johnnie Cooper’s exhibition at Saatchi Gallery London was a big highlight. I illustrated eleven portraits throughout the years including drawing passengers on my commute, and participated in the 36 Days of Type where upon I illustrated the letters of the alphabet and numbers 0-9. Finally my re-brand for The Blast, Bristol with a nod to early 90s rave graphics has been well received.
